[Users] Two possibly related mail folder problems.

For a while now I have been unable to move messages into a folder that
I have, corresponding to a particular email contact --- let's call him
"Boaz", to protect the innocent. The folder is named "Boaz" and is a
sub-folder of a folder called "Correspondents".

I never *used* to have this problem.

Now when I try to move a message to "Boaz" a little blue left-pointing
triangle appears at the left hand edge of the relevant line in the
message window. When I hover the pointer over this triangle, the
phrase "To be moved" appears. The message in question does not show up
in "Boaz" and remains where it was.

Note that trying to move messages, from other correspondents, to "Boaz",
encounters the same roadblock.

I have also observed that some of the messages currently in "Boaz"
cannot be displayed. When I click on such messages a large red dot,
with a white exclamation mark in it, appears in the top right corner of
the window in which the message should appear. Also appearing in that
window is the text:

  This message can't be displayed.
This is probably due to a network error.
Use 'Network Log' in the Tools menu for more information.

When I go to the Network Log I see things like

Previous mailbox closed.
[2025-01-14 14:01:52] IMAP< 474 NO Mailbox doesn't exist:
Correspondents.Boaz

and

** IMAP error on posteo.de: SELECT error
** can't select folder: Correspondents.Boaz

Why does claws-mail think that the folder "Boaz" does not exist?

It does. If I go to .claws-mail and execute

find . -name "*Boaz*" -print

I get:

./imapcache/posteo.de/malachi42 at posteo.net/Correspondents/Boaz
./tagsdb/#imap/Posteo/Correspondents/Boaz

The files in the respective "Correspondents" folders all have the same
permissions: "drwx------ 2".

The problem, so far, has manifested itself only in respect of the Boaz
folder, and I cannot spot anything unusual about this folder.

Can anyone suggest where I could look for further insight? Thanks.

sincerely,

Unk
