My machine, F39, has wordlist.db in .bogofilter, and here is the filetype:

1003 [17:21] rol at riri:~/.bogofilter> file wordlist.db 
wordlist.db: Berkeley DB (Btree, version 9, native byte-order)

So, wordlist.db presence doesn't mean you have switched to the SQLite
backend.
