Do you have more than one account in Claws Mail? Do you have the options to
automatically select the account set?
If the answer is yes to both, then perhaps you fixed one account's settings
(the default account, maybe) but not the other, so when you reply the unfixed
account is automatically chosen.
If it's not that, then it looks like the problem and the fix is outside of
Claws Mail.
Regarding different settings in different email programmes - use the settings
which are known to work.
