What you are seeing is a soft line wrap when you make the window smaller than
the lines of text. That is, the first example above is just a visual wrap,
saving you having to scroll. The actual message text is not wrapped like the
view.

If you really want lines to wrap so narrowly then you need to change the
Wrapping configuration, see 'Wrap text at ... ' at
/Configuration/Preferences/Wrapping.
