I have a couple tricks for minimizing the necessity of mouse
acceleration, which can turn every click into a drive, a tee shot and a
putt.

1) Never use a ball mouse.

2) Blue trace mice are more accurate and easy.

3) Use the mouse on a very clean table or mousepad.

These actions can minimize your need for acceleration and maximize
your first-try mouse accuracy.
