Okay.

I use claws-mail on an email account where I get maybe one or two,
maybe, even up to four, email messages in a week.

For my primary email account, in which, I now get only about 100-150
emails a day, I use Thunderbird to view and deal with email that needs
quick response, and, for downloading, and, the heavy work, I use the
heavy duty email application; alpine (previously known as pine). That
involves about 20-25GB of stored messages, hundreds of filters, some
with hundreds of filter values, and about 13,000 folders, mostly archive
folders, with messages going back about twenty years, for a number of
email accounts, redirected into my primary account. So, I use the heavy
duty email application, for dealing with that.
