[Users] CM 4.0.0 3 column layout

CM 4.0.0 on Manjaro.

I have an extremely wide monitor. I have set the layout to 3 columns.
The problem is that the message view (the right most column) is
quite narrow.

I shrink the message column, this increase the message window. I
close the CM and next time, the message column is again wide and the
message window narrow. CM doesn't store the windows layout.

Is it:

a: a bug
b: there's another setting?
