Yes, I was talking about the preview pane.  I had missed the part where
Lewis said "message list". I can't do any text selecting in the message
list.

I just tried it with gedit (3.14.0), and it's the same as Claws
(3.14.1). While the text is selected, I can paste it with a middle
click.  But then if I clear the selection, a middle click does nothing.

Meld also does that for me.
