I concur with your 1st and 3rd points, however 'SSL' is a term most
users will understand, which is why it is still in use. "TLS error"
will not necessarily cut it.

With 'SSL error' you know what it means, I know what it means,
everyone knows what it means. However, this is not set in stone, and
I'm not saying it WILL NOT change.
