            Bug ID: 4855
           Summary: hidden setting "primary_paste_unselect" not
                    acknowledged
           Product: Claws Mail
           Version: 4.3.1
          Hardware: PC
                OS: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P3
         Component: UI/Compose Window
          Assignee: users at lists.claws-mail.org
          Reporter: sbstst at yahoo.com

## Claws-mail version: 4.3.1 and 4.1.1 (and probably earlier)
debian bookworm-backports, v. 4.3.1-1~bpo12+1

## Other reference: Bug 4258 for the version 3.14.1

## Description:
In the compose window, when selecting a text, we can paste it only when it's
still selected. If we click in another part of the window, with the purpose of
positioning the cursor in a precise place, for example, the primary clipboard
is cleaned and a middle click doesn't paste anything.

Setting "primary_paste_unselects" to 0 or to 1 doesn't change this behavior.

It's a pity, since a major advantage of the graphical linuxes is lost. Most of
the other programs (but not LibreOffice) retain the primary clipboard even if
we click elsewhere.

## System Information
MXLinux with Debian bookworm
xfce 4.20 (4.20+mx23) with xorg
GTK 3.24.38 / GLib 2.74.6
Locale: en_US.UTF-8 (charset: UTF-8)
Operating System: Linux 6.1.0-32-amd64 (x86_64)
