[Users] Kubuntu upgrade caused disaster!

 The Dropbox problem is a mystery, but that's for a later date. In the meantime I should try to recreate my preferences etc. But it's a long time since I set up Claws Mail and there's a lot I've forgotten. In particular, where do I get the list of plugins from? I don't seem to even have a list of them to select which ones I want,

Then there's something wrong with your backup. Do you have way of verifying
it?

Yes, just restoring from a backup is the way.

I think you should be asking (yourself, at least) what is going on at
dropbox.
