[Users] Search function is inconsistent, especially for attemtped recursive searches

I'm using Claws 3.17.5.  The search function is inconsistent, For 
example, when I use Quick Search and use From/To/Subject/CC/Tags, and 
check the box for Recursive, it searches only the folder I am currently 
in. Sometimes other folder icons turn to the magnifying glass, but most 
often they don't.  And this is when I am searching for terms I know 
exist in other folders. In fact, when I then navigate to those other 
folders, messages resulting from that search in that folder are 
displayed. That recursive multi-folder magnifying glass feature seems to 
work only on the first Recursive Quick Search that I execute. After that 
it does not. Advice?
