[Users] no proxy dns? Why not socks5 127.0.0.1?

It does make DNS calls of course, but nobody wrote DNS proxying for Claws, which is why it does not have that option.

All data but DNS lookups will be performed via the proxy. (Including, IIRC, plugin-related network traffic).
Claws-Mail does not phone HQ, upload telemetrics or anything like that.
