[Users] no proxy dns? Why not socks5 127.0.0.1?

thunderbird has a proxy dns option. Claws-mail does not. Why not?  
Claw.mail makes no dns calls?

claws-mail.org/faq/index.php/Connecting_with_Tor
instructions say enter localhost. Why does it not say enter 127.0.0.1?

If you set a proxy then claw-mail transfers all data both ways over  
tor? The claw-mail program as such does not phone hq
or in any fashion will transfer data not over tor? Thanks.
