Hi,

that's incorrect.

Claws: Configuration > Edit Accounts > Select an account > Edit >
Receive POP > "Remove message from server when received"

Don't check it and the mails get never deleted or check it and the mails
get deleted after x days and y hours.

IOW after receiving POP emails on your desktop PC you can still retrieve
the emails on your smartphone.

The difference to IMAP is that POP doesn't sync, e.g. if you delete a
POP mail from your desktop PC, it gets not deleted from the server too.
