For Thunderbird there are also newsgroups that offer public help and
discussion:
alt.comp.software.thunderbird, use a public NNTP news server to access
it.
Back in the days Mozilla operated their own news server including
hierarchies, but they closed it, so people moved to the new group in
alt.*.
