[Users] messages not deleted, but marked

Hi all,

Claws stopped moving my messages to trash using the Wastebin icon. It
just marks them for deletion. 
Selecting a message and choosing "Delete" from the Message-mainmenu
works; "Move to trash [ctrl-D]" does not.

Anybody has a suggestion how to get my Wastebin-button working
properly again? Must be something simple, but it's been buggering me
for 2 days now...
