The versions 3.x.x and 4.x.x are for gtk2 and 3 respectively. Meaning:
the most recent version of 3.x.x (3.19.1 at the moment) and 4.x.x (4.1.1
atm) are equivalent in terms of being up-to-date. They are different
because of the version of gtk they support.
