I've also got that bug. Unfortunately, neither the .bashrc solution or
changing themes worked for me, so I just added a comment and an
animated GIF (that shows the behavior) to that bug report you linked.
The bug report's "RESOLVED INVALID" status most likely invalidates my
contribution, but a girl's gotta try.
