I knew a lady who once was a diplomatic typist. Serious typing was done
inside a locked room inside a locked room on a manual typewriter.
That still left many places to intercept the letter on its journey.
By contrast my father was a military signals operator, and everything
encoded prior to sending. Then enough signals of the day had to be
heard and copied down to permit cracking of the day's code.

Neither solution is was perfect.

and me? I lost my password to my GPG key. After that I gave up, and
don't send stuff by email that I cannot risk being public.
