It's something else.

You are confusing the Sender Name and the Sender Email Address. They are
different things. For example, the email you sent is from "J. Paul
Bissonnette" (the Sender Name) and jpaulb at eastlink.ca (the Sender Email
Address).

In Claws Mail you can configure what is displayed in the Message List:
/Preferences/Configuration/Preferences/Display/Summaries, on the 'Message
list' tab see the 'Displayed in From column' choices.
