My skills are basic, meaning if the instructions are good and reliable,
it is easy. yet what about bringing in other packages that may affect
dependencies, etc ??

I do have an old HP laptop with Kubuntu 20.04.  I guess I could get
that going and do the compile there. Yet do I need to compile Claws ?
I'd prefer to just try compiling the 'Fancy' plugin.  There is some
important emails and I can't access the links, even going through the
raw emails.  Oh well.
