Ah ok; well that's good then for the OP's problem.

It's a real problem in other software, eg the kind where an app 
grabs info about some mails on the server then waits while a 
user reviews headers etc (manually or via rule sets) and decides 
what they don't want, then has the software send delete commands.
Some such software may then move on to the next screenful of 
message details.  It's easy for users not to end the session or 
eg for a line fault to end it messily so that the deletes never get
actioned.
