While it is rocket science to build deb packages from the bottom up the
Debian/Ubuntu way, it's nearly as easy as using checkinstall, when
using the distros' source package, replacing the source code by a newer
version of Claws and editing the changelog. When doing this, you get the
split Claws packages. There are lot of howtos available. Read, test
and if something doesn't work ask at
