More information needed.

Do you have a very long passphrase?
Are you using any non-ascii characters?
Do you quit claws-mail cleanly?

Are you able to upgrade to the latest release (3.17.4) and test again?

Please provide as much information as you can, as this is unreproducible and so
far there is not much to go on.
