When I want to do that, I just right-click on the address and pick
"Compose new message" from the dropdown menu.  Also, "Reply to this
address" on that same menu comes in handy very often.

I also would like to see the selection buffer behaviour fixed, but I
have a feeling the fix for that is not within Claws itself, but in
GTK.  Other GTK apps I use have similar problems with select & middle
click.
