Great! This fulfils half of my outstanding wishes w.r.t. encrypted
messages.

The other half is to be able to physically replace an encrypted message by
its plaintext counterpart. Most encrypted messages no longer need to stay
encrypted once arrived on my safe systems.

Do you happen to have a patch for that, too?
