Bug ID: 4153
Summary: Can't set shortcuts for commands in second-level menus
Classification: Unclassified
Product: Claws Mail
Version: 3.8.0
Hardware: PC
OS: Linux
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P3
Component: UI
Assignee: users at lists.claws-mail.org
Reporter: psychonaut at nothingisreal.com
The UI FAQ at
<https://www.claws-mail.org/faq/index.php/Interface#How_can_I_change_the_key-bindings_.28hot-keys.29_in_Claws_Mail.3F>
describes the procedure for binding a shortcut key to a pull-down menu command:
activate the menu, mouse-over the desired command, and type the desired
shortcut. Unfortunately, this procedure works only for top-level menu entries.
It does not work for menu entries on the second or subsequent levels, such as
the "Spelling->Options->Use alternate" command of the Compose window.
AFAIK the problem was first reported for Claws Mail 3.8.0 on (X)ubuntu 12.04 at
<https://lists.claws-mail.org/pipermail/users/2012-October/004022.html> but I
can still reproduce it with Claws Mail 3.17.3 on openSUSE Tumbleweed.
