Doubtful.

What that checkbox does is that it assigns an account to the "Get Mail"
button. If you don't mark that checkbox, the button does _nothing_.
You could still click the arrow right of the button and select an account
manually. Or you assign multiple accounts to check when clicking "Get Mail".

The alternative way how to assign accounts to the Get Mail button is
found directly on the first "Edit accounts" dialog in the "G" column.
