In this reality, it is virtually impossible to avoid abuse of email
addresses. Even if they are not leaked or harvested from a web site or
mailing list, SPAMmers also try other techniques like guessing names and
providers.

I once got email SPAM on a non-trivial email address shortly after I
created it, before it was even used.

Trying to keep your email from being abused is just like the copy
protection on CDs and DVDs: The bad guys don't notice and only the good
guys are affected.

We have to live with it. And deploy good SPAM filters.
