The question was meant to be polite (in case someone already had worked on
this), rather than a request for help, as I was pretty sure the feature did not
exist in claws mail.

After further educating myself, I find that the *.desktop file only shows
claws-mail as listening for the 'mailto' protocol:
* MimeType=x-scheme-handler/mailto

So can this simply be considered a feature request, rather than discussion?
