FWIW, this can be achieved via the --select commandline option. For
example, on my system, this would select the message I am replying to:

claws-mail --select '#imap/tichoIMAP/ML/claws/users/6465'

So I guess one can configure a custom URI scheme for xdg-open to
understand and translate to a command like the one above.
