[Users] What's processing marks ?

I still can't think of any explanation.

How can claws ask me for 'marks' when i never used them ?

Or maybe like this ... 

Lets say the mails in question were unexpectedly deleted on the server (maybe by someone else, as unauthorized access?), maybe only minutes after i downloaded them to my laptop.

Then, does claws somehow countercheck this fact (trying a sync) at the next laptop POP and creates something like (internal) marks ??
