[Users] Next message after deletion

I'm probably being obtuse here, but how do I control which message becomes
the current message after I've deleted a message in the middle of a list of
messages in a folder.

At the moment, if I delete a message then the one above it becomes
highlighted. In fact I'd prefer the new highlighted message to be the one
below. My messages are listed with oldest at the top, if that's relevant.
