In this case the problem isn't gmail because it isn't a gmail account.
Neither is it a problem of the other provider ( gmx.net ) because on another
computer the files are received without any problem.

To make it even more complicated, it holds the same version of Claws that gives
this error under MINT.
No error under Ubuntu-Studio although both Mint and Ubuntu( studio ) should
behave identical as far as I know.

Searching for a solution I stumbled upon very similar problems but those where
all under Windows. Still it might be helpful finding a solution.
