why did you reply to the mailing list?

You could used the link, however, if you want to reply by mail, then why
not reply to the appropriated address,
users-request at lists.claws-mail.org?

You only need to reply without overwriting the address. If idiotic
filter and/or folder rules overwrite the address, then fix your rules
or manually edit the address.

If everybody would send mails that should be send to
users-request at lists.claws-mail.org   to
users at lists.claws-mail.org   instead, this list would become a mess.
