Hi,
First post, so apologies if I'm dumb ...
I have been using evolution (a rather old 2.30.1.2) but have decided to
move to claws on a new machine (openSUSE Leap 42.1, Claws 3.12.0).
I'm trying to export my addressbook from evolution and import it to
claws, but not having much success. I 'exported' from evolution using
'Save Address Book as vCard. I tried to import it using the
vcard2xml.py tool listed on the claws site.
The first time I ran the tool, python complained about an encoding
problem (copyright symbol) that seems to be over a decade old. The
second time I ran it (having set the encoding) it complained that it
can't find .claws-mail/addrbook--index.xml but AIUI the program should
be transferring the vCard data to an output file that I subsequently
import into claws, so why is it looking for claws files at all?
Rather than try to understand the program I thought I'd ask here first
since it appears to have a ten year old showstopper on line 4!
What's the best way to move an evolution addressbook to claws?
Cheers, Dave
