First visit this page and download and install the latest release:
http://www.claws-mail.org/win32/

You want the Fancy plugin.

Go to /Configuration/Plugins, click the Load button. A window will
open listing the plugins you have installed. Click the one called
fancy to load it.

Then go to the Fancy preferences page,
/Configuration/Preferences/Plugins/Fancy.

The minimum option you will want to set is the 'Display embedded
images' one. This loads the images which are included with the
message. It is advised against setting the 'Enable loading remote
content' option by default.

See also the 'HTML messages' frame on the
/Configuration/Preferences/Message View/Text Options page. You can
turn all 3 on. The latter 2 there mean that you won't have to
explicitly select the HTML message part of a message. Otherwise, you
will click the HTML message part icon from the right of the message
view.

When you have opened an HTML message part with Fancy, you will see a
button on the lower left corner below the message view. This enables
you to load remote content selectively, i.e. if you trust the sender.

I used an acronym: HTML, just as understandable as HyperText Markup
Language, I feel. Basically it means 'web page'.
