Sure, but that's exactly not what is desired...
When I'm composing a message and use an external editor (like I'm
doing now, using Emacs) and look in the menu bar, Message menu, I see
Save (Ctrl-s) and Insert signature (Ctrl-g) greyed out. But when I type
one of these, nothing happens. These are control characters that Emacs
uses for editing purposes. And there are many more, almost all of
them.
Redefining all Claws' shortcut keys is out of the question. When not
editing a message using embedded Emacs these keys are great.
But as it is now, Emacs can hardly be used as an embedded editor.
I think the best solution would be to disable all Claws' shortcut keys
when the embedded editor window has focus, but I do not know if that
is technically feasible.
I'd really appreciate input from other users that employ embedded Emacs
for editing.
