[Users] Deleted Emails

I use Claws Mail IMAP. I do get a few rubbish emails, of course, which
get put into the junk folder via Bogofilter. I then delete them. I know
that different email clients do their own thing with deleted files, and
I am wondering about Claws.

Do deleted emails just get flagged up so that they no longer show up in
the list or are they really deleted? I have done some research but have
so far failed to find the answer. Thanks for any info.
