Don't know.

Probably, yes.

Probably, yes.
If you've not quit Claws since discovering this problem then you will
have a backup file of the previous addressbook index file. Copy this
somewhere safe before quitting Claws, the file is
~/.claws-mail/addrbook/addrbook--index.xml.bak. Then quit Claws, and
move it back, but rename it by dropping the .bak suffix, i.e.
addrbook--index.xml.
The alternative is to recreate the index file manually.
Quit Claws, and then open ~/.claws-mail/addrbook/addrbook--index.xml
in your text editor.
It's a simple format:
-------8<--------8<--------8<--------8<--------
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
<addressbook>
<book_list>
<book name="Common Addresses" file="addrbook-000001.xml" />
<book name="Personal Addresses" file="addrbook-000002.xml" />
</book_list>
<vcard_list>
</vcard_list>
<jpilot_list>
</jpilot_list>
<ldap_list>
</ldap_list>
</addressbook>
------->8-------->8-------->8-------->8--------
Add items in the <book_list></book_list> block, such as
<book name="Some Addresses" file="addrbook-000002.xml" />
Where 'file' refers a file in ~/.claws-mail/addrbook/ and 'name'
matches the "<address-book name="Some Addresses" >" field in that
file.
