Font rendering of Indic script in Claws Mail

Email is in Indic script, HTML and contains various parts.

Character Encoding of email:

Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8
Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64

Character encoding setting in Claws-mail:
Automatic or UTF-8

Characters render as gibberish in Claws-mail. Outlook and Thunderbird work
fine. On opening the message part in a browser, through View >> Message Part >>
Open, the message is rendered properly.

Seems to be a fallback problem as this:

"माझी अपयश कथा ,हा लेख एका स्पर्धे साथी पाठवला होता ..तो सिलेक्ट झाला" is
rendered as shown in attachment.
