Summary: Provide compiled versions of Claws Mail plugins for
Windows
Product: Claws Mail (Windows)
Version: CVS
Platform: PC
URL: http://www.claws-mail.org/plugins.php
OS/Version: Windows NT
Status: NEW
Severity: enhancement
Priority: P3
Component: default
AssignedTo: users at lists.claws-mail.org
ReportedBy: feek at abwesend.de
Claws Mail seems to provide neat plug-ins, as listed on the plugins extra page.
http://www.claws-mail.org/plugins.php
Some (all?) of the extra plugins are not offered in compiled form, only in
source code. That is, there are no .dll's that a user can put in one's plugins
folder at " lib/claws-mail/plugins " in order to extend Claws Mail's
functionality.
For instance, using the GData plugin would be neat for all Windows users who
are using Google Mail and gpg4win, yet want to encrypt their e-mail (which is
not possible through the Google Mail web browser interface)
The average Windows user has no knowledge regarding compiling sources.
Adding compiled dll's to the gpg4win distribution, or at least providing
compiled plugin versions for downloading, may benefit Claw's acceptance as a
reliable MUA for mail encryption purposes.
