I just committed a change that increases the receive limit to cvs.

More interestingly, I also commited a change that makes sure only
contacts in the "My Contacts" system group are received in the first
place, which should make above change pretty much obsolete (but still
sensible). That change requires at least libgdata 0.9.1.

If you're able to compile from cvs, and if you have libgdata >= 0.9.1
available, I'd be interested if plugin version 0.3cvs3 works for you
(check the network log how many contacts are received - it should drop
to what you have in your addressbook).
