[Users] Claws Mail is not accessing my address book

Claws mail has stopped accessing my address book. 

The directory addrbook is present in .claws-mail in my home directory,
and all the subsidiary address books are present in it. But when I try
to access my addresses via Tools in the Claws mail menu are the books
Common Addresses and Personal Addresses, which both display as empty.

I can't see anything else wrong with .claws-mail, but I'm not sure what
should be in there.

Any suggestions as to what I should do next? And, yes, I've tried
restarting and rebooting,
