I was going to ask what a "SMTP only account" was, but I see another CM
user asked the question.
How I have managed the workaround (to no identities, like in KMail,
TM, etc) is probably what Paul would call a "SMTP only account".
I only use that 'CM account' for sending because any POP3/receiving is
done at a server level 'account'. So yes, come to think of it, that is
how I have used them.
To set them up, I just copy/clone another CM account and then only
change the "From". That's it. When I compose, open the dropdown for
accounts and select the correct 'sender'.

Okay

Yes, that's basically how I do it now. I will checkout the
'auto-account-selection' options also.

Thanks, I'll chew on it. For composing, it will be the same
with/without identities, just open a dropdown. With replying to, if the
'sender' is in the list of CM accounts, it gets put into the "From", if
not I have to manually open the dropdown. If there is a "From" that I
haven't setup yet, then key in in manually.
