Ok, that was a mistake :p

Trashed my existing claws-mail installation on the new computer.
Since it was trashed, anyway, went ahead and tar'ed-up the directory
on my old computer, sent it across, extracted it, and, as-predicted,
it just worked.

Sometimes I make things harder than they need be - lol
