[Users] recently occurring problems sending thru SMTP

* ports used: SMTP 465, IMAP 993.
* telnet to imap.mailbox.org works as expected.
* network log after a failing send attempt shows:

  [2024-09-01 10:26:37] IMAP- [fetching UIDs...]
  [2024-09-01 10:26:37] IMAP> 131 UID FETCH 1:* (UID)
  [2024-09-01 10:26:37] IMAP< [data - 46 bytes]
  [2024-09-01 10:26:37] IMAP> 132 APPEND Queue (\Seen) {1645}
  [2024-09-01 10:26:37] IMAP< + OK
  [2024-09-01 10:26:37] IMAP> [data - 1647 bytes]
  ** IMAP error on imap.mailbox.org: stream error
  ** IMAP connection broken
