Everything is the same except:

"3. Double-click on any group name"

In my case a single click on any group name causes the immediate crash.

Libetpan has been borked on Debian stable for YEARS. Could claws instead use the Sylpheed library? Is it possible to compile claws-mail against libsylph instead of libetpan? This has been going on for like 5 or 6 years.

Upgrading to Sid is not an option and probably would not stop the crashing for other bugs linked to libetpan.
