Right, Fancy has been reintroduced to Debian 2.5 years ago [1].
Although, in the present context I think Fancy is a distraction - you
need to fix your permissions issue (UID mismatch between file owner and
the user running CM or similar) whether you decide to use Fancy
eventually or not.
